MELLOTRON BASED (EURO-ROCK)

The title of the group gives it away a bit to those who remember the heady innovative musical days of the 1970’s Krautrock scene and the one main label at the forefront of it all - This seventy-five minute album manages to outdo everything that the retro-ists and Ohr copyists have thrown our way ever since. The CD runs for seventy-three minutes and is all-instrumental. Each and every one of the 12 tracks has the same feel, mood and spirit of the days of the Ohr genre, and it’s fair to say that it is a genuine, bona-fide classic of its kind, yet it’s one that will have a far wider appeal than just the Kraut and contemporary audiences among you – SUPERB!

The first (twelve minute) track opens with a huge salvo of real Mellotron, organ, bass and drums, and I mean PLENTY of Mellotrons – that sound that any seventies fan would kill for! The incredible thing is the way it sounds EXACTLY like it was recorded in the seventies - It's that whole feel, spirit and sound of the time, and whether you're into old Ohr label Tangerine Dream, old 70’s instrumental prog, a fan of great, classic Krautrock, or just a Mellotron nut, this opening track alone will blow you away, and that's for sure. The rest of this album, at over seventy minutes long, is just fantastic from start to finish. Track 2 features just electric guitar, organ, bass and drums, and again sounds like some early 70’s track from the likes of Agitation Free/Gila. Track 3 opens deceptively with Cluster-like electronic squalls before, after, just a few seconds, the drums and bass come in, very strongly with the electric bass having that really powerful, solid feel, all deep and resonant, while an early Gottsching-like guitar figure swirls away on top, again sounding exactly like some lost Ash Ra Tempel piece from the early seventies.
