If you want your life to fall into a hedonistic black hole of unbridled mental corruption, where the search for a higher state of ultimate pleasure overrides your every move, your every thought - A world where your actions provide nothing but feelings of euphoria and then shame, then this is the soundtrack of that life! It’s stark reality is a world of electronics where sequenced synthesizers and explosive electro-percussive rhythms are the general foundation for 10 vari-paced tracks. Fifty-three minutes of string-synth layers, well used samples, deep and dark resonant electronic bass - A mind-stretching expanse that is the musical equivalent of a drug from which there is no escape! Like the New Mind album reviewed elsewhere in this site, you have to experience music like this - It’s melodic and rhythmic in the traditional sense, but it has an atmosphere that is unbelievably compulsive, where a pan-universal sea of synths and electronics create a surprisingly wide range of potential audience appeal. But it’s still ‘Industrial’, and as classic an example in that genre as they come. The dynamics allow you multi-textured ‘coziness’ and safety for one track, then almighty beat-driven monsters the next, as synths, percussive, samples and occasional treated vocals all collide into a well constructed, perfectly produced, melodic musical maelstrom where anything goes and nothing is sacred – save perhaps the music itself. Corking album from the guy behind Biotek/New Mind. Here we have a vari-paced but largely EBM-style album of predominantly rhythmic offerings, founded upon big, beefy beats from a raft of electronics, electronic percussion and programming. Each track features the all-round gorgeous vocals of any one of four female vocalists, and the result is a set of body-swaying tracks that possess dynamics, force, passion, sweat and adrenaline. Sometimes more sultry, sometimes at the darkest recess of your mind – places where those thoughts that you don’t want anyone to know about are stored! It’s moods and atmospheres are sensational, plus the musical backing and fundamental foreground textures of layers, melodies and rhythms are classic ‘EBM’ and so much more. It is richly assembled for a huge flowing sound, while the respective female vocalists capture your heart and soul with some superior lyrical compositions that have you caught in their spell from start to finish. These songs are all so addictive, but without actually possessing any real hooks - A true reflection that what you are hearing is quality music that will give long-lasting enjoyment. Superb!

A 17 track  seventy minute voyage of discovery from the early dawn of the project through to pretty well the present day, yet it’s not a ‘Best Of’ in the sense that this album is all previously unreleased or rare tracks. However, it is a ‘Best Of’ in the strict sense of the term, in that it is a work that truly represents the best of what New Mind is all about – and that is spectacular! So, what is it all about? The world – his world – a world of electronics, atmospheres, samples, hard beats, layers and sonic constructions that are so creative and much more besides. Not merely ‘EBM’ or industrial this or that, here you have music capable of blasting you into next week one minute, then deceptively relaxing you the next. Much of the early works carry on the legacy of classic industrial 80’s bands such as Tackhead, 400 Blows, Portion Control and others, only when this gets heavy, it gets HEAVY!  Several tracks possess mind-blowing electronic and electro-percussive rhythm bases, over which are assembled all sorts of electronic layers and samples, all put together to create an eerily perfect sea of mystery. When it’s seduces, it does so with smooth passion – When it’s turned up loud it sends shivers down the spine, and when it rocks, you’ll sweat in the furnace heat it creates. Once you start to play it, you can’t quit – it’s a musical world into which you are inextricably drawn and held to experience until you come out the other side – a changed person that wants to repeat the trip all over again – to revel in the black galactic electronics, the thunderous yet warm rhythms and the sheer resonant dept of the bass. This is an assemblage of tracks that positively hypnotises - One of the finest electro-industrial albums I’ve ever heard. Perfection incarnate and truly timeless - Let it burn into your brain – You’ll never want it to leave.
